| Syllabus: | This unit discusses general criminal law doctrines including attempts to commit offences, double jeopardy, and complicity. It then examines a range of defences, including involuntarism, accident, insanity, intoxication, mistake, claims of right, emergencies & compulsion, self-defence, and provocation. The unit also covers arrest, bail, criminal trial procedure, and sentencing principles and practice. |
