Introduction

This is a rapidly growing area which offers a variety of career paths. By introducing students to a range of managerial principles as well as their applications in the tourism and hospitality sector, this major provides students with the relevant knowledge and skills to become effective managers in these closely related sectors within Australia and overseas. Students will for instance study contemporary issues in international tourism; discuss the sustainable management of tourism and hospitality in theory and practice; learn about the wider impacts of tourism and hospitality upon the local and global economy; and, also the role of marketing in these sectors.
