Introduction

This course is ideal for students with a technical or non-business background wishing to develop an understanding of the functional areas of business. By provision of a broad coverage of core business related topics students will be well prepared to move into leadership and management roles.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution and at least three years subsequent, relevant work experience. Graduates from the Curtin Graduate Certificate in Business will be considered qualified for entry.Entry to the course is competitive and applicants will be required to undertake an interview as the final stage of application assessment.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Students with waivers may select other appropriate foundation or business environment units from the Master of Business Administration or an additional optional Graduate Diploma introductory unit.

Duration and Availability

This course may be completed in one year full-time or the equivalent in part-time study and can also be completed fully online, dependent on unit selection. International students on student visas are not permitted to study fully online.

Intermediate Awards 1

A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of Head of School/Department. Fees apply.

Graduate Certificate in Business.

Course Organisation

Offers a specialisation in Strategic Procurement as well as the generic Business stream.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
