Syllabus: | This unit will focus on the management of the environment. Three key themes will be developed: conservation of flora and fauna; sustainable use of resources; and the burden that human society places on the environment. These themes will be developed through lectures, interactive discussions, preparation of a management plan or submission on an environmental impact assessment (EIA), a literature review, and field visits to relevant organisations involved in the management of environmental resources. In addition to development of these themes the unit will introduced you to a range of potential careers in environmental biology. |
