Syllabus: | Systems: data information, information systems and information flow, different categories of information systems (IS), including management information systems (MIS), decision support systems (DSS), enterprise solution services (ESS), office automation systems (OAS), enterprise information systems (EIS) and computer-based IS, distributed IS and data communications. Systems analysis: methods of analysis, phase of analysis and design. Systems design and development: design techniques, focused on systems life cycle (six-phase model) and prototyping, representations of IS (logical flow diagrams, structure charts, data dictionaries), topdown v. bottom-up development, project management and team planning, documentation, end-user evaluation models and systems maintenance. |
