Syllabus: Introduction to process simulators: thermodynamic models. Pseudocomponents and hydrocarbon characterisation. Thermodynamic models: fitting non-ideal phase behaviour. Phase behaviour, dewpoints, critical behaviour and solids. Flowsheeting: refrigeration units. Flowsheeting: turboexpander plant, basic set-up. Flowsheeting: turboexpander plant. Heat integration. Flowsheeting: fractionation plants. Flowsheeting: amine unit simulation, basic setup, effect of process conditions. Flowsheeting: dynamic simulation, Deethanizer application set-up. Flowsheeting: dynamic simulation, Deethanizer control loops.
