Syllabus: | This unit explores the relationship between furniture design, theory and manufacture. It examines the role of the designer in the production of special, limited and commercial furniture and illustrates the dependency of the design process on knowledge of materials, technology and methodology. Students design and construct a furniture prototype based on their research, design and production criteria within a workshop environment. |
