Introduction

This course provides a qualification for people working or proposing to work in the industrial relations field, who are interested in furthering their studies into the legal and practice aspects of employment law and industrial relations.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Applicants must have either a bachelor degree in any field from a recognised Australian tertiary institution, or equivalent qualification, or substantial work experience including at least two years in the field of employment law or industrial relations.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Recognition of prior learning may be given to students who have completed equivalent units at a recognised Australian tertiary institution to a maximum of 25 credits.

Duration and Availablity

The course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Career Opportunities

Employment for graduates is mainly in the industrial relations or human resource management departments of companies, employment in state and federal government departments dealing with industrial relations and employment issues.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
