Introduction

This course develops skills in, and knowledge, understanding and appreciation of, contemporary social issues, and heightened skills in social research and analysis, that assists in career development. It prepares students for new employment opportunitiesi n a variety of public and private sector contexts requiring social scientific research and analytical skills. It is designed to complement existing knowledge gained from an undergraduate qualification in any recognised area, including business, humanities, sciences and education. Students may upgrade studies to complete a Graduate Diploma in Sustainability Studies offering more advanced, individualised learning opportunities.

Course Entry Requirments/Prequisites

A bachelor degree or equivalent in any field of study from a recognised tertiary education institution, or a minimum of five years’ relevant experience. This is a suggested entry requirement only.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Creative overlap between current employment and study is emphasised. Credit may be awarded for prior learning and demonstrated skills.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
