STRU-FOENG v.2 Foundation of Engineering Stream (Dubai)

The Foundation of Engineering prepares students for undergraduate study in Engineering at Curtin Dubai. It has four core units that are common to all Foundation courses: Advanced Critical Thinking, Research and Writing, Critical thinking, Research and Writing; Computer Productivity, and Mathematical Foundations. In the Foundations of Engineering, students study units in chemistry, physics, programming and mathematical foundations (more advanced than the core unit). This is studied over two study periods. Students who have completed the IBCP and had an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 upon entry may receive advanced standing for four modules. The modules for students with such advanced standing are shown as “Single Trimester” in the streamed version of the Program which includes four modules: Advanced Critical Thinking, Research and Writing, Introduction to Physics, Introduction to Chemistry, and Mathematical Foundations III. Pathways to further study: Students who successfully complete the Foundation of Engineering program will be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) available at Curtin Campuses where the course is being offered.

Duration and Availability
This course is 2 trimesters full-time study. Students who have successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Studies may qualify for the Advanced Entry Trimester, and will only need to complete four units.
