Syllabus: Constructivist theory is provoking much interest among mathematics and science educators, providing researchers and practitioners alike with a valuable window into designing learning environments, fostering inquiring minds, and building teaching practices that support deep and lasting learning and achievement. This unit examines how constructivist theory can inform science and mathematics education by focusing on the practical, classroom-based implications such as ascertaining students' prior knowledge and implementing constructivist-based teaching/learning approaches.
