Syllabus: | This unit presents alternative versions of Australian history. It examines ways that major history texts have been challenged by fresh perspectives on what is significant and relevant in Australia's history, and it presents alternative versions of historical events and individuals. Students will study in detail several ‘case studies’ including histories of previously overlooked or marginalised peoples; labour history, literary hoaxes and cultural or political scandals. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the relationship between changing social values and ways in which we understand the past. |
Unit references, texts, outcomes and assessment details | The most up-to-date information about unit references, texts and outcomes, will be provided in the unit outline. |
