Syllabus: | This unit introduces students to the general study of physical chemistry and basic organic chemistry. Properties of solutions as well as thermodynamics, equilibria, kinetics of chemical reactions will be covered in order to account for the related natural phenomena, to carry out relevant calculations, and to facilitate chemical reactions for optimum performance in industry. Basic organic chemistry includes systematic nomenclature for common organic functional group compounds, organic reactions and practical aspects of application in daily life. |
