Syllabus: | Introduction to land-mobile radio communication systems. Mobile radio environments: propagation mechanisms, path loss, fading and multipath, and statistical models. Cellular concept: architecture, frequency reuse, handoff, interference and capacity, grade of service. Multiple access methods: conflict-free and non-conflict-free, frequency, time, code and space division multiple access. Spread spectrum techniques. Intermodulation and noise performance of a radio receiver. |
