Introduction

This course provides a foundation in the core principles of economics as well as intermediate units in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and economic policy. Students will gain an understanding of economic relationships and the tools of analysis to understand today’s economic problems. It will appeal to graduate students who are working in areas of applied economics and is particularly suitable for careers in private business, the public sector, teaching, banking and consulting.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree from a recognised institution in a discipline other than economics.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Professional Recognition

Graduates are eligible for associate professional membership of the Economic Society of Australia (WA Branch).

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
