Introduction
This course provides advanced knowledge and skills in hospital pharmacy, with a focus on enhanced clinical pharmacy capability. Special emphasis is placed on the effective use and interpretation of biomedical and pharmaceutical literature. The units in this course enable the study of various topics relevant to hospital and clinical pharmacy.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A degree in pharmacy, with a minimum of one year of work experience as a registered pharmacist, preferably with experience in hospital pharmacy.

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is of one year full-time duration or equivalent part-time. However, the majority of students take two to four years of part-time study to complete the course. Not all core and optional units are available each year. The range of options shown below are examples of those available. From time to time other units will be offered.
Professional Recognition
Registered pharmacists who successfully complete the course may apply for continuing professional development (CPD) credits. The award of this course does not qualify a person for registration as a pharmacist in Australia.
Additional Course Expenses
Students are expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials. Students may require a laboratory coat.
