Syllabus: Introduction to human computer interface; motivation; contexts for human computer interface; process for the user centered development; different measures for evaluation; models that inform human computer interface design; social issues influencing human computer interface design and use; multi-cultural interaction and communication; accommodating human diversity; user interface standards; principles of GUIs; designing and programming GUIs (native and web); widgets; geometry management; event management and user interaction; UI programming environments; future developments.
