Syllabus: | Concept of using physicochemical factors and biota as indicators of ecosystem health. Causes and consequences ecosystem degradation man-made and climate change, use of vegetation and invertebrates as indicators of environmental changes, vegetation and ants as biomonitors as part of restoration of degraded land, aquatic invertebrates and diatoms as tools for monitoring the ecological integrity of wetlands, macrophytes and fish as indicators of aquatic system health:, case-histories to illustrate current biomonitoring practices in Australia and abroad. |
