Courses Handbook 2010

311937 v.1 Japanese Major

Introduction

Completion of this major will provide students with the ability to communicate effectively in Japanese cultural terms, with a focus on the use of the Japanese language. The major also provides insights into Japanese social and cultural frameworks and business practices in Japan. Students commence with Japanese 111, or a more advanced unit depending on the student's level of Japanese, after consultation with the Japanese teaching staff.

Major combinations within the BA

Students choosing this major within the Bachelor of Arts degree will also choose another major or an elective stream. Choosing a second major allows students to study in an additional discipline area. Choosing an elective stream allows students to undertake further study in the discipline of their first major or choose from a variety of units from around the University. Combinations of majors are listed in the handbook at http://handbook.curtin.edu.au/courses/31/311921.html.
