Syllabus: Land resources as determinants of agricultural production. Morphological and chemical processes of soil formation and landscapes in relation to agro-ecological zones. Physical, chemical and biological properties of soil and their impacts on soil quality and plant growth. Introduction to soil constraints and options for management to increase productivity and to reduce environmental impact. This unit has a field work component.
