Introduction

This major draws upon the diverse and complex traditions of Fine Art calling for a high degree of self-discipline, capacity for self-criticism and dedication to the demanding profession of being an artist. This course aims to produce highly accomplished and knowledgeable graduates able to contribute to the artistic, aesthetic and social needs of contemporary society.

Major combinations within the BA

Students choosing this major within the Bachelor of Arts degree will also choose another or an elective stream. Choosing a second major allows students to study in an additional discipline area. Choosing an elective stream allows students to undertake further study in the discipline of their first major or choose from a variety of units from around the University. Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Students should complete Art Studio Research - Methods and Materials 191 and Art Studio Research - Methods and Materials 192 in first year. Students must submit a portfolio.
