Introduction

This major provides students with critical skills, theoretical understanding and practical training in the fields of historical and contemporary theatre and performance. Students are trained in areas of theatre and performance practice, including performance, directing, writing, devising, dramaturgy, critical analysis, stage management and theatre production.

Major combinations within the BA

Students choosing this major within the Bachelor of Arts degree will also choose another or an elective stream. Choosing a second major allows students to study in an additional discipline area. Choosing an elective stream allows students to undertake further study in the discipline of their first major or choose from a variety of units from around the University. Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Students should complete Performance Studies 101 and Performance Studies 102 in first year.
