Syllabus:	This unit explores social meanings of sexualities and genders as social constructions, as reflected powerfully in self and personal identity, marriage, family, community, and broader societal institutions. Within this frame, the impacts of counter discourses, forms of resistance and social movements are examined in particular social contexts, Various theoretical and methodological perspectives are critically analysed as alternative ways of interpreting sexualities and genders in comparative and cross-cultural terms.
