Syllabus: Introduction to elementary geology and its influence on soils, and the processes of soil formation, distribution and classification in Western Australia. Exploration of soil's physical, chemical and biological properties and how these affect the suitability of the soil for agriculture. Management of the soil resource base to cover issues such as salinity, acidity and fertility.
