Laboratory: 1 x 2 Hours Fortnightly
Syllabus: Introduction to sensors and transducers, analog and digital instruments, measurement concepts, analog-to-digital (A/D) and digital-to-analog (D/A) conversions, virtual instrumentation using LabView. Introduction to programmable logic, supervisory data acquisition using remote terminal units (RTUs), design examples of realtime applications using RS-232, multi-channel data-loggers, and various instrumentation techniques.
