Syllabus: Diversity of life. Five kingdoms. Approaches used to study aquatic organisms. Introduction to aquatic ecosystems. Aquatic environments. Sedimentation processes. Ocean environments, waves, weather influences, currents and upwelling. Populations, communities and ecosystems. Structural organisation of aquatic animals. External and internal anatomy of commercially important aquatic invertebrates and fishes.
