Syllabus: Western Australia 1826-1971. Exploration, imperial rivalry and the settlement of the Swan River colony. Trading patterns in nineteenth century Western Australia. Cycles of economic development and changing perceptions of state: capital relations. Development of political parties. Social and economic impact of gold rushes, depression, immigration and twentieth century mining development. Indigenous Australian and other minorities in Western Australian History.
