Syllabus: Supervised production of a geological map and a geological report of a local area of moderately complex geology. Mapping in the field will be in association with a photogeological study of the area. Part of the associated field work is to be undertaken during the mid semester field week. Some short field trips may also be undertaken. A carefully hand drafted or a CAD presented map and report is to be submitted by the last day of semester in which the work was undertaken. This unit is six hours per week with the major component held over a five day mid-semester field camp and excursion followed by independent map preparation and report writing.
