This course is made up of two majors, one in Human Biology and the other in Human Biology Preclinical. The course is centred around strong anatomy and physiology units in all years, with the Human Biology major being more laboratory based and the Preclinical major preparing students for entry into graduate physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, audiology, chiropractic and medical programs. Graduates are able to access and critically evaluate scientific literature and are competent communicators in written and oral presentations. The course emphasises the development of problem solving skills in a collaborative environment. Graduates can also apply for entry to postgraduate programs in biomedical sciences, occupational health and safety, public health and education.
None. TEE Chemistry, Mathematics and Human Biology or Biology are desirable.

Selection is based on the Tertiary Entrance Rank and satisfactory performance in TEE Chemistry, Mathematics and Human Biology or Biology. International students should have completed equivalent subjects and demonstrated English competency.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
This course is three years full-time or equivalent part-time study.
The first year of the course provides a foundation in the life and general sciences with emphasis on the development of learning skills. Second year develops selected subject areas including anatomy and physiology in depth, consolidated by extensive laboratory based learning. In the third year students apply their learning to explore areas of current research in human biology. Selection of optional units may be determined by requisites.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
