Definition of human rights, theories of rights, natural rights, existential rights, individual and group rights, 'negative' and 'positive' rights and the implications of this for human rights issues and responsibilities and the responsibilities of the individual, the community, the state and the global community. Human rights and human needs. Rights and ethics. The ' three generations' of human rights and alternative frameworks. Feminist critiques of conventional human rights.
