Syllabus:

The computer bus as a transmission line. Loading effects. Transients. The role of a computer interface. Interfacing methods; some common analogue and digital interface circuits. Isolation and protection. Timing issues. Bandwidth issues. Cabling issues; optical, coaxial and twisted pairs. Connectors. Fabrication techniques. EMC.
