Designed to provide the theoretical foundations and techniques of management, law, logistics purchasing, contract administration via case studies and practical business applications. A range of issues are studied that are applicable to strategic procurement, including competitive conduct, strategy, logistics and management.
A bachelor degree in a business, commerce or economics discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
This fee paying course is two semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units are available in the evening.
Graduates are eligible to meet the requirements leading to full membership to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in the United Kingdom.
Graduates can be expected to obtain employment in both the public and private sectors. Public sector employers are the State Supply Commission, Department of Contract and Management Services, and local government authorities. Private sector employers include large commercial organisations and mining companies.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
