This course develops expertise in a functional area of marketing through advanced studies in the field with study emphasising research preparation to be used in exploring a particular aspect of marketing through in-depth research and projects.
A bachelor's degree in business, economics or commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution or a honours degree in business, economics or commerce or a postgraduate diploma in business, economics or commerce.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Students with a relevant upper second class honours degree or above may request acceptance directly into the second half of the program.
The course is two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.
A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate awards approved for this course appear below.
Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (Marketing).
The first half or the course normally follows the pattern of the Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (Marketing). The selection of units in the second half of the course varies according to the length of the research project undertaken with students guidedby the course coordinator. In all cases, appropriate research preparation units must be undertaken before the research project.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
