This course is designed to allow a graduate in engineering to proceed to further studies in a particular field by means of advanced coursework and a project. This program is more suited to international students.
A recognised bachelor of engineering degree at honours level. The Department of Civil Engineering is prepared to consider applications from other graduates in engineering but admission in such cases may be subject to successful completion of a prescribed qualifying program.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
The course is by coursework and project and normally requires one year of full-time or equivalent part-time study. Three intakes are offered each year in January, May and September, with study undertaken in trimesters.
The program of study is assigned to the candidate after consultation with the Head of Department. The availability of course units is currently under review and inquiries should be made to the Head of Department.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
