Syllabus: Conducted in conjunction with an equivalent Construction Management and Economics unit. Students from both departments will be interacting by acting in roles of architect, contractor and quantity surveyor. The lecturers will act as clients. Students willundertake a two-part assignment requiring them to act as architects, designing and documenting a variation to a building under construction and incorporating the variation in the building contract. This will involve utilising skills and knowledge previously gained in a wide range of course units. Interaction with the roles of the CME, students will be by way of recorded weekly meetings arranged by the various students to address the tasks required by the unit.
