	| Syllabus: | The basic biology of living organisms. Characteristics, adaptations and life-cycles of bacteria, fungi, algae, liverworts, mosses, ferns and conifers, as well as the structure and function of flowering plants - stems, roots, leaves and flowers are considered in the first part of this unit. The second part focuses on the basic organisation of the animal body - evolutionary relationships between animal groups, reproduction and development, respiration and cardiovascular systems, excretion and water balance, nerve and endocrine systems, animal feeding patterns, locomotion and body support. |
