Syllabus: Provides an introduction to the cultural, historical and social conditions and major issues which have shaped and continue to shape the lives of Indigenous People in Australia. Features a number of core themes that underpin the topic areas of the unit. These include, the dynamic and enduring nature of Aboriginal identity and diversity of Indigenous Australian cultures, dichotomies, which characterises much of Aboriginal history and experience, dispossession of land and resources, stolen people and removal of cultures and cultural renewal and revival, enforced disadvantage and struggle for human rights.
