Examination of the relationship between planning and the market economy with a particular focus on land use. Economic factors behind housing, retailing, wholesaling, manufacturing, offices and urban transport are reviewed. The rationale for public intervention in the land market is examined. A critique of the 'economic way of thinking'. |
