Syllabus: General structure of the earth. Minerals and rocks. Rock forming processes. Physical geology. Elementary applied geophysics. Geochronology and stratigraphy. Structural geology and geological mapping. Geohydrology, groundwater occurrence and movement. Applications of geology in earth movements, cuttings, tunnels, dam sites. Laboratory studies of rock types and mineral characteristics, geological mapping.
