Syllabus: Semiconductors, intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors, semiconducting devices, p-n junctions, field effect devices and junction transistors. Dielectric properties, dia, para and ferromagnetism, soft and hard magnetic materials, ferrites, magnetic domaintheory. Superconductivity, BCS theory, structure of superconductors, new developments in oxides.
