Syllabus: AC-DC conversion - three-phase controlled and uncontrolled rectifiers. DC-AC operation - VSI and CSI, square-wave and pulse-width modulation techniques. AC-AC converters - AC phase control, integral cycle control, cycloconverters. Resonant converters. Harmonic effects in power systems. Introduction to drives, DC drives, induction motor drives. Power conditioning systems.
