Syllabus: Introduction to ethics and bioethics. Bioethics and culturally relevant ethical practice. Moral reasoning and ethical theories, the Ethical Reasoning Model and the four principles. The meaning of commitment to ethics for the practitioner in international health, applying frameworks in response to ethical dilemmas, emerging arguments about the relationship between health, ethics and human rights. Current debates about the ethical conduct of research in developing countries. The ethical dimension of health equity and resource allocation.
