Syllabus: |
Further development of basic physiotherapy competencies in professional and clinical practice, and in the management of problems related to pregnancy, child birth, incontinence and aging. Selected topics include models of health care, health beliefs, health behaviours, psychosocial aspects of health care, communication and interpersonal skills. Clinical experience is provided. Case studies are used to consolidate and motivate student learning. Life span health issue topics include pelvic floor dysfunction, psychosocial issues in child rearing, gynaecological surgery, bladder and bowel dysfunction, models of geriatric care, functional assessment, dementia, osteoporosis, lymphoedema and community programs. |
