Syllabus: Catalyst properties and catalytic reactions, design of catalytic reactors, catalyst deactivation mechanisms and rates, moving bed reactors and transport reactors, gas-liquid reactions on solid catalyst in trickle bed and slurry reactors, fluid-fluid reactions kinetics and reactor design, non-linear behaviour of reactors, reactors for ultrafast reactions, biochemical reaction systems including enzyme and microbial fermentation. Mathematical modelling and analysis of multiphase reaction systems.
