The Departments of Design and Art collaborate in the presentation of this course ensuring that students develop the creative and technical skills necessary to ensure an innovative approach to fashion and textiles with a focus on creative thinking. This course is based on an exploration of the relationships between textiles, garment and the body. The practices of research, analysis, ideation, production and communication are underpinned by the principles of both design and process and arts practice which are reflected in the project work undertaken. Fashion is strongly linked to culture and has a prominent place in the media. This course also provides a theoretical and contextual framework for understanding the cultural significance and practices within the fashion industry. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesIn addition to meeting the University's entry requirements all applicants local and international are required to present to the School a folio of work and attend a personal interview.
