Students focus upon such interdisciplinary areas as Australian studies, culture studies, gender studies, literary studies and performance studies. Where appropriate students undertake relevant study in other Curtin schools or at other tertiary institutions. This course consists of a combination of coursework and a significant research or production project carried out under supervision. Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesAn approved honours degree, or postgraduate diploma with well above average marks usually an average of at least 70, and with adequate training in contemporary literary and cultural theories. Applicants without necessary preparation are required to undertake bridging units, Contemporary Critical Issues 411 or an appropriate honours unit. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Duration and AvailabilityThis fee-paying course is of one year full-time or equivalent part-time study. It is not available by external study. Unit availability specifically caters for those unable to study during the day or on a full-time basis. However, it should be noted thatwork in theatre requires substantial attendance on campus, often in daytime. This course is currently being revised, and is not available for admission in 2005.
