Introduction

This research based higher degree develops research skills and advanced knowledge in indigenous research and development. It is grounded in Indigenous knowledge and discourses.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

An approved honours degree or postgraduate diploma with well above average marks (usually an average above 70), and have adequate knowledge of Indigenous research methodologies. Applicants without necessary preparation may be required to undertake appropriate honours units. For further information, applicants should consult the general information section in this Handbook, entitled 'Research Higher Degrees'.

Duration and Availability

This is of two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Course Organisation

This course is studied as a research degree. The content of the degree should be determined in consultation with the postgraduate coordinator, Centre for Aboriginal Studies. Students may be required to undertake preparatory coursework units that may increase the stated course duration.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
