Physiology of germination, flowering and fruit growth. Action of hormones and growth inhibitors. Biology of secondary plant metabolites. Environmental and internal control of photosynthesis and transpiration, including greenhouse effect. Mineral nutrition, including role of root clusters, mycorrhizas and nitrogen fixation. Crop physiology, including computer modelling. Tolerances to adverse growing conditions.
