Research into child development issues and the theories, practices and policies relating to early years intervention. Social, intellectual, behavioural, physical, aesthetic and language growth are examined together with the definitions of developments which influence changing perspectives in these areas. The theoretical underpinnings of current practices and the strengths and weaknesses of the research on which they are based are explored.
