Introduction
This course is designed to provide the theoretical foundations and techniques of management, law and logistics together with practical business applications. Study of a range of issues applicable to strategic procurement including competitive conduct, strategy, logistics and management. Graduates are expected to obtain employment in both the public and private sectors. Public sector employers are State Supply Commission, Department of Contract and Management Services and Local Government authorities. Private sector employers include large commercial organisations and mining companies.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A business or commerce degree from a recognised tertiary institution or significant professional experience in the area of strategic procurement or contract management.
Duration and Availability
This fee paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study. It is expected that most students would complete the program over one year on a part-time basis.
Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible to meet the requirements leading to full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in the United Kingdom.
